A painting of Tom Hanks, created by a student from a first semester Art 1 class at North Quincy High School. In the process of this piece, the student employed a grid to help her draw the picture accurately. She is painting her subject in monochromatic colors, a color scheme derived from a single base hue and extended using its shades, tones and tints. Tints are achieved by adding white and shades and tones are achieved by adding a darker color, grey or black.
